Sam Lurie’s journey as a DJ began at just 15 years old. It all started at a summer camp dance, where he was captivated by the energy and presence of the DJ behind the booth. Fascinated by the craft, he asked if he could watch from behind the DJ table, and within months, he was working as an assistant DJ, performing at Bar and Bat Mitzvahs every weekend.

As his skills developed, Sam quickly moved up, taking on lead DJ roles for school dances, sweet 16s, birthday parties, and graduations. His passion for entertaining grew, leading him to gigs at bars, nightclubs, and corporate events. Eventually, he became a sought-after DJ and MC for weddings and Mitzvahs. Over the past 15 years, his focus has been almost exclusively on weddings, bringing a highly personalized and professional touch to each event.

Now, with over 25 years of experience, Sam brings both deep industry knowledge and a thoughtful approach to every TSG wedding he performs. He often tells couples, “I know no one is coming to your wedding to see me.” His philosophy is all about customization, tailoring every detail to reflect each couple’s unique vision. His style is professional, detail-oriented, and designed to deliver a fun, classy, and unforgettable experience.

What Sets Sam Apart?

Sam prides himself on precision planning. He believes that the more effort he puts in beforehand with couples, the smoother and more enjoyable their wedding day will be. As an MC, he is polished and well-spoken but keeps his presence on the mic to a minimum, sticking to what’s necessary for smooth coordination. His belief is simple: “If I can play your requests, take some guest requests, and mix what I know will work best from reading the crowd live, the dance floor should be packed, and I won’t need to say a word.” For Sam, music selection and mixing are everything. The right song, played at the right moment, is what creates lasting memories and keeps the energy going.

Experience & Recognition

Having DJ’d thousands of events, Sam now limits himself to around 50 weddings per year, often booking more than two years in advance. His career has taken him across all six New England states, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Israel, and even China. He has been featured in DJ Times Magazine and was invited as a guest speaker at The DJ Expo in Atlantic City, NJ. While he’s checked off plenty of career milestones, he still believes the greatest reward is when a couple tells him he helped create the best night of their lives.

Beyond The Booth

Sam is an Eagle Scout and a Fitchburg State University graduate, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems. By day, he works as an IT Manager and is a CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional). But on nights and weekends, he’s in his element, filling dance floors and keeping the party alive.

Outside of DJing, Sam is passionate about collecting vintage Magic cards, unique cars (he owns several), and anything automotive-related. If he has a rare weekend off, you’ll likely find him at a car show, track day, rally, or Cannonballing across the U.S. He lives in Billerica with his wife Elissa, their son Solomon, and their golden retriever, @Turbo.TheGolden.
